The Rainbow Crystal uses a combination of paper piecing skills, strip piecing skills, and traditional piecing skills. There are no Y-seams or curved piecing, so it is a relatively straightforward quilt pattern that would work well for a beginner to intermediate quilter. The quilt uses 2-1/2” strips, which can be purchased as a package or cut from yardage. The cover quilt was made with the Prismatic Strip Set manufactured by Timeless Treasures. It uses (1) package of 2-1/2” strips, then (8) accent colors that mimic a rainbow, and black and white background fabrics. The block is used in a 91” x 91” layout that includes (48) diamonds.
**TOP TIP** There are excellent tutorial on paper piecing, (video and photographic) that Judy has done on YouTube and on her website. I just love tutorials because they take the learning curve for making a new pattern to a much more manageable level. So...I recommend that you grab a cup of tea and a little break (I know your excited) and enjoy!

Shipping Cost and Package Tracking
It is important to understand that most items are now sent USPS Ground Advantage. US Postal Service Ground Advantage is replacing First Class Mail and Parcel Select Ground. The new service offers the same prices and 2-5 day delivery. Orders are sent with a stiffener; this requires package rates for shipping. This shipping option does include insurance for the item if lost or damaged in transit. For items sent via media mail (when they qualify for USPS standards) insurance is included.

Can you send a pattern via PDF or download?
As much as we would like to offer this, none of our patterns are available via PDF as the designers of our patterns have retained the copyrights for their work. All of our patterns are physical patterns which will be shipped to you via USPS. If you are looking for a PDF pattern, we highly recommend reaching out to the pattern designer directly as they may have a PDF option available.
Fabric Instructions
Our fabrics come directly from the manufacturer and are not pre-washed. If you are new to working with pre-cut fabrics, the manufactures recommend that they not be washed until your whole project is complete. If you want/need to be able to pre-wash the fabric, we would recommend yardage for your project.
Are these fabrics COLORFAST?
No matter what type fabric you get, you cannot assume that anything is colorfast and will not run or bleed. This can be a nightmare when you have spent a lot of money for beautiful fabric, only to have your project or quilt ruined because of bleeding issues. In order to make many dark colors vibrant, manufacturers have to use a lot of dye. The more dye, the greater the propensity the fabric has to bleed. If you have questions about the colorfastness of a fabric, please test it first. You may have to pre-treat the fabric to better "set" the dye. Even then, it may not be enough and you may have to re-think your project and the fabrics you use. We will not be responsible for its colorfastness, nor will we replace your fabrics
